BASIC Review: Western Digital My Passport Pocket Hard Drive (1TB)

It is a fundamental review of Western Digital "My Passport" hard drive (1 TB in this case), only the disc itself. As of this upload, the drive is available with 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB. Greater to come soon. The unit also includes software to password protect the data, as well as giving a graphical representation of the types of files on disk, and at a pace, a percentage of each graphic. To me this is just a disc media, so that additional software is useless to me as it isdo not work on media players, when they protected the password. The unit works right out of the box (at least for the PC) and is powered by the included USB cable. Best of all, is a solid piece, not the old 2GB partitions use the rest of their hard drives. Although this HDD to play media asset is not recommended for games, or anything to do what is sometimes the disk for data files. Games seem to freeze, and other applications, since the unit immediatelyif not in use. This unit has been designed exclusively for backup purposes, like this: Good for multimeidia use: Good for backup purposes: YES Good for games: not good for intensive applications: NO Software included: Depends (if you do it with you maybe not).

From Interop, video-Plat 'Home Linux server in my form

Within minutes of arriving at Interop show floor today, cool morning and start my search for something on videotape for publication here on ZDNet, we found the house stand Plat 'in the back of the display with two very cool products - both small Linux server that fits in the palm. This is called Block 266 and open the other is the MicroServer open. One of Plat 'Home Design principles for both was "no moving parts." As such, neither serverHard disk in it. Both have uploaded the home derived from a distribution platform 'Linux known as SSD in the on-board memory, and after Martin Kill the man I interviewed in the video, the expansion of the two devices "hard drive" space have a the two kinds of ways. To open the block 266, an internal CF card added to increase the memory up to 8 MB. To open the micro server (which is actually greater in size than the open blocks), a CF card can be added internally. Instead,You should add an external hard drive via one of two USB 2.0 ports on the side. The blocks any open USB port. more can be found at: blogs.zdnet.com
